Happy Mother's Day...and More...of course :)

Well of course I have a lot to report...and should probably stop trying to get so much into one post...because I always leave stuff out b/c one week into one post is too much to remember...but really...who has the time with 2 kiddoes around...perhaps I will get better at it and be better at more frequent updates. Because really...Kegan, at his age, keeps me in stitches laughing with the things that he thinks up! Anyways, we will just jump straight to pictures and tell stories along the way.

Wednesday
A friend of mine at church invited Kegan and I to a sprinkler park her play group was going to. This place was so cool...and Kegan loved it. It was just different toys and such that sprayed out water - how great for a hot south Texas day.

getting drenched

Ty had a blast, too...haha...

After school on Thursday we headed out to the farm to take a combine ride with Daddy while he was cutting the wheat.
Ty's first ride on a combine...I don't think he is going to remember much of it.

Also a first for Ty that day, taking his first red-neck ride in the car - aka: he rode around the farm in my lap while I drove...no car seat! The first of MANY rides like that I am sure.
Kegan LOVES to ride on the combine!

This is where you look out around you and say "Thank You Lord, for the blessings you have given us!"

Kegan riding around with Gramma and Pampa (mommy taking a picture from up in the combine)...look close and you will see Ty in Gramma's lap.

Friday
My mom came down to Wharton to see her mom on Mother's Day, so Matthew, the kids and I headed up to spend Friday and Saturday with my Grandma and Pappa and my mom. My grandparents had not see Ty since he was a few days old...to say the least he has changed a lot and they were so surprise by how much he had grown...especially those great cheeks of his!
Kegan story - on the way up, I had called my mom to see where she was and somewhere in the midst of me telling mom we were on the road to Grandma's, Kegan goes, "see my great-grandma"...say what? Matthew and I had not talked about that. The last time I mentioned to him about a great grandma was forever ago! My gracious how the child remembers things. We were quite impressed.
I thought this was cute - it totally looks like he is giving a wink! (oh, yes, notice the fist up to the mouth - he LOVES to suck on his fist, but if I try to pull it out and put in a pacifier, grrr...he gets very frustrated with me.)

Pappa (who I want to say looks fabulous for 88 going on 89 this year) and Kegan.

Ty talking to Pappa. BTW - like his big brother I believe Ty is going to favor being around the men than the ladies. He already showed a quicker response to Pappa's voice and would look around trying to find him when he heard him, than he did to Grandma's or Aunt Betsey.

Making smiles at Aunt Betsey.

Aww...this is a comfy spot.

I don't know what they were talking about, but Kegan was telling his Mamma (what all the great grandchildren call her) something.

Just b/c I thought it was cute. Propped up so big and tall.

Ready for bed and relaxing with Mamma.

Hi Grams!

My Grandma has this set of food and dishes that she has had since...forever...long before my time. Well, Kegan found it and had a ball cooking with it (the end tables became the oven/stove) and serving us all.

Helping daddy pump up his little bed.

Saturday morning:
Grams and Ty

Kegan got to take a trip to my Pappa's land to ride the Gator and see the cows.
(Juliann and Kegan riding around in the back of the Gator)

Matthew said Kegan wanted to "work on something" so they gave him some gloves and he set off to "work" on this tire.

Isn't this a GREAT smile!

Playing around with Grams.

My grandparents have the most beautiful HUGE oak trees in their back yard that provide the perfect shade for swinging and sipping on a little Sonic in the afternoon.

chasing bubbles

Matthew taught Kegan how to "spin" on the swing...so all Saturday he kept saying "spin me"

loving the spin...

woah...a little dizzy...haha...isn't that face priceless!

so cute...and a bit of a serious look...

couldn't have planned this better if I had tried...haha...

umm...daddy pushes a little higher than mommy...

Sunday
Mother's Day
That morning while I was getting Ty ready, Matthew was getting Kegan ready and told him to come wish me a happy mother's day, well, Kegan runs into Ty's room and says, "HAPPY DAY MOMMY!!!"...awww...I loved it!
At church we had the baby dedication. Kegan did very well on stage (I think it helped that he found Pampa in the choir and so he spent a lot of time turned around waving to him.)

What is up with the tongue Kegan??? Oh...I think he is so going to be "that kid" on stage at church performance...haha...

A family picture outside the church

Monday
We got some free tickets to the Hooks baseball game so off we all headed to the game Monday night.
Daddy and Kegan ready to go into the game.

The kid LOVES baseball and actually does VERY well during the game.

Playing around with James

Here he was goofing off with Katie, Jame's friend...he is such a flirt!

Soo sweet!

Family picture...once again, Ty enjoyed his first, asleep (he was awake for a little at the beginning but was out for most of the game)

Other big news: Ty turned 3 months on Sunday. The time has flown. You spend the first 3 months counting down till you hit 3 months (it is a big turning point, to me, in some developmental things all coming together) and then when he gets there, you ask yourself, "Where did the time go?" I feel like my little newborn is gone, and I have a baby who is rapidly growing and changing and developing a little personality...so fast....

You are right - you can't write down everything that Kegan says and does - he is so active and smart - so entertaining. Enjoyed being with you guys this weekend.
