Galveston

Warning: There are a lot of pictures( 30 or so)...but not really that many, if you think that I had to narrow it down from 200...needless to say...I took a lot of pictures - it was a great week!

Wednesday morning Kegan and I flew into Houston where my mom, dad, and Karsyn, picked us up (no plane issues this time - yea!!!). Then we headed to the beach house in Galveston. As you can see below Kegan was welcomed with lots of joy from Meme and Poppa. (Kegan and Meme are talking about something here...I think he is laughing at her and she is going..."hey kid!"...haha)
It did not take us long and we headed for the beach. Here Kegan is being pushed by his older cousin, Katy - she loved pushing the babies in their strollers.

Take a quick look - this is the cleanest you will see Kegan on the beach - he LOVES the sand...as you will soon find out!

He loved it so much...he ate some (and will continue to through-out the week - pictures to follow)...then he needed some water. I guess it was a bit dry and gritty! I can't believe he can somewhat successfully drink from a cup..where has my little baby gone???

After a day in the sand, everyone needs a good bath. Wendy and I have decided that Kegan and Karsyn will hate these pictures when they get older...but for now...how cute are they!!! (look how well they are sharing those toys)

Thursday morning we all got up and dressed and played around the house some. The poor family had to step around all the toys and blankets we had layed out for the babies to play on. They were all so great about it.
Karsyn has started crawing...sooo...at times, I think Kegan was just in the way! If something is in the way...then just crawl over it. I love Kegan's face in the pictures...it is almost like he is saying, "Hey! What is going on back there? What are you doing?" To which I guess he showed his disapproval by letting out a stinky, because right after this picture was taken Karsyn raised up one of her hands and waved it under her nose like there was something smelly below her. We all started laughing!!!
Later, Thursday afternoon, Kegan and I headed downstairs and swam a little in his blowup pool with Katy. He still loves the water - he can't even take his eyes off of it long enough to look at the camera.

Nothing better than coming in from a swim and relaxing on the couch some - especially when you are being entertained by your Great Uncle Glenn and Great Aunt Cathy.

Next stop for entertaining fun - flying like an airplane over his Great Uncle Danny's head. Kegan was giggling and laughing the entire time - he loved it.

After all that playing, it was time to start winding down. Both grand kids and Grams and Grandpa took in some time together on the porch. Kegan loved watching all the birds fly by!

Time to go in - way to go Grandpa - both grand kids at once...trust me, that is a load!!! Look at Kegan's hand on Grandpa's face - I think it looks sweet...like he is patting him on the cheek.

Bath time, again! Look at those buns!

Friday, Grams, Kegan, Karsyn, and I met Wendy at a portrait studio (about 30 minutes or so outside of Galveston) and had pictures taken of the kids - soooo cute (of course) despite Kegan being very fussy and NOT in the mood to smile. I will download those pictures later and you will see that the photographer did capture some smile and we got some VERY cute pictures!!!
After a morning of pictures, we came back to the beach. It was low tide, and the water was pretty calm, so we were able to set the babies out in the water. They both enjoyed the sand and waves. Kegan does have in his, what Wendy called, his sand plug. If that was not in his mouth, it was a handful of sand. I think this is the only time, all week, that Karsyn was a little bit more dirty than Kegan.
Such an inquisitive face!

Friday night, we took pictures of all the great grand kids...
then of all the great grand kids with Meme and Poppa.

Friday night Kegan went to his first bonfire on the beach. As you can tell he enjoyed himself!

Matthew got in Friday night, so first thing Saturday morning we all headed out to the beach again...and of course if you are going to the beach with little ones, you need to be sure to lather them up in sunscreeen - scalp included. Who knew sunscreen could act as a great hair gel. This is one of my favorite pictures of Kegan...they hair...the face...all too cute!

We took Kegan out into the waves. Grandpa was fishing in the distance and as you can see...he caught a fish.
Kegan is inspecting the fish here - I am sure if felt very slimy and different than anything he has ever touched before. He liked it though - yea - he can be a fishing buddy with his Grandpa! We had to be careful with his hands though - they would go straight to his mouth after touching the fish - probably not the cleanest thing for him to do!

After spending a while in the water we went back to chill in the sand for a while. Matthew buried Kegan's feet in the sand. Kegan did not seem to mind at all - the more dirt the better! (Notice the sand plug is in.)
The sand plug is out, and look where that dirty hand goes!

Ohhh - my dirty little boy - just reclining in the sand recliner his daddy made him.

As playtime progressed, so did the amount of sand in Kegan's mouth. Karsyn has Kegan's sand plug, since he obviously has not desire to use it. Notice - she is clean and sitting nicely and he is....

dirty...dirty...dirty! Such a little boy - happiest when covered in dirt!

After a long play at the beach the babies got very hungry. Man - what a life. Both babies sitting back in their recliners drinking their bottles. Could they look more relaxed?

Saturday night we all took a walk on the beach for our last night there. Kegan enjoyed his ride on Uncle Danny's shoulders. Although, I think Uncle Danny is now missing patches of hair where Kegan was grabbing on.

We headed home Sunday, after cleaning up, packing up, and once last meal of seafood. On the way home we stopped by Granddad's and Madaline's for a while so they could see Kegan. Grandad had Kegan giggling a kit of the time there!

Then we stopped again, a little further down the road to see Grandma and Pappa. I think this is such a sweet picture of Kegan and Grandma. He loved the musical toy she was holding.

Pappa even had a chance to entertain Kegan!

It was a great trip...and our last one for a little while at least. Maybe I can finally start trying to unspoil him...hehe!

Kegan has earned his wings

We made it home...and boy was it a trip! Kegan learned how to wait in an airport for a 3 hour delay - he did WONDERFUL...just sleeping or playing...did not cry once!!! Then we had to take a LONG round-about-way from Dallas to Houston because of weather. Again - Kegan did wonderful on the plane - he actually slept for half of the trip. Once we did make it to Houston the last plane out of Houston, heading for Corpus left with-out us...and the other 20 or so passengers from out trip headed to Corpus. They finally arranged for all of us to get on a plane headed down to the valley area - the plane took a detour to drop us off in Corpus. In Corpus we got to unload on the landing strip (not many people get to do that and Kegan has now done it at 7 months old). Everyone was so impressed at how well Kegan did with all the moving around and flying. We were getting compliments on him as people were leaving the airport. What a great little boy!!!! The journey for Kegan earning his wings did not end there, though - he luggage did not make it off the plane (mine either)...so we had to wait a day. What a trip! He was such a trooper, though. I was so proud of him!

I last updated this (before his tooth update) with letting everyone know what adventures Kegan had been on in Plano, up through Tuesday...that was only the beginning though. Wednesday through Saturday were full, too! Before I tell about that, here are some pictures from Sunday through Tuesday.

Playing around while mommy packed. He loves to play with that tag on the block.

Kegan and Mommy are ready for his first trip on an airplane.

You know the song "Your so vain"??? Well...Kegan loves himself in a mirror!
(Hmmm...who is that kid with a cool tongue?)

(I still can't figure him out...hmmm...)

(Let me see if I can scare him...boo!)

(I see grams in the mirror too!!!)

(I see a cute baby!!!)

Meeting Becky!

Bath time in Grams's sink.

This is why we needed the bath - a day of eating like this and anyone would need a good bath! (Is it just me or does he look more like a little boy in this picture than a baby - oh...he is growing up so fast!)

Laura is giving Kegan his last bottle...sort-of...Kegan holds it himself so Laura was holding him for his last bottle...

Wednesday - Kegan got to see Angela (Goo) again, Laura, and Alison(who is pregnant - I don't think Kegan scared her too much about this parenting thing). We all went and grabbed lunch together - but not with out him first showing off his own wonderful table manners - yummy!

Here, we are all sitting around waiting for Goo's shirt to dry - Kegan spit up all over her...again....

He also got to see Courtney and her finance', Randy, that afternoon.
Wednesday evening Lindsay, Kegan's aunt, got to come over and have dinner with Kegan and I. I must say - I believe in our short visit, Lindsay was able to thoroughly spoil Kegan. She held him all she could - before dinner, a little durring dinner, after dinner, when we went to grab some ice cream -it was so sweet!
Thursday, Kegan and I made a trip to Grams's work and got to see all the people she works with. Kegan was doing his best to show off his grins and laughs. He certainly knows how and when to turn on the charm! Later that afternoon Kegan joined Grandpa for work.
Then they both took a break and went outside to play some.
(Ohh...the feeling of soft grass right under his bottom for the first time...he looks like he is investigating it.)
(I don't know what Grandpa is thinking about, but Kegan is loving whatever they are doing.)
That evening some people came over to the house - some of Grams's friends and some of mine. Below is a pictures of Courtney, Stacy, Kegan, and I.

Friday - Poor Kegan was stuck shopping with Mom and Grams during the day, but that night he got to go swimming for the first time. We all went over to Mrs. Debbie's and Mr. Bill's house (Courtney's parents) to swim! KEGAN LOVED THE POOL!!!!
Courtney and Kegan chillin' by the pool.

Getting ready to take our first dip in the pool...

("I love it Mom! I love it!!!")

(Can I taste the water??!!??)

Kegan loved watching the water poor out of the hot-tub and into the pool.

Saturday - We headed to Courtney's wedding shower and Mr. Kegan, once again turned on the charm. He smiled and played with everyone. He was so good about being passed around to all of his Grams's and mom's friends who were there. I hope he stays this easy going about stuff! After the shower - we flew home...that crazy plane ride home....

Sunday - Father's day! We went over to the Setliff's on Sunday to celebrate Father's day. They were all so happy to see Mr. Kegan!
(Daddy and son)

(3 generations - what a crew!)

The happy family!
