Birthday parties and Thanksgiving Feast and more fun...oh my!

Little man has had a fun...but rather busy...past week...and few days! Since our last past Kegan had a fantastically fun birthday party with family and friends, had a fun weekend visit with Grams, Papa (new name that both Kegan and Karsyn call my dad - so that is what he is now), and Uncle Nolan, Aunt Wendy, and Karsyn, who drove in for the party. Then the week got off rolling...a doctor visit, busy evenings, school, a Thanksgiving Feast at school where he had a special visitor (his Gramma), and well...just enjoying life as a 2 year old. Two favorites this past week: being outside on his new swing-set (any time of the day...he would go first thing in the morning if I let him) and he loves cooking with me and doing the dishes (hmm...wonder how long that will last...probably not through his teenage years???).

Karsyn and crew arrived VERY late Friday night so Kegan was already asleep, but the next morning Kegan and Karsyn wasted no time, saying hello and getting to playing!

Papa pushing his grandchildren...who did fairly well at sharing the swings...fairly well!

Karsyn gave Kegan his very own comfy chair for his birthday - which she told him and all of us about before he opened it...I guess she was excited about it, too!...haha :)

Oh...this is how I always see my daddy and Pampa get comfy in a chair!

A hug (totally not provoked by us...can you see it in their faces?)...

as all the adults bustled around getting things ready for the party Kegan and Karsyn took their breakfast outside to a table just their height.

Checking out the sand table, before the party, and making sure it is ready to go! (I think this was after my son decided to jump into the dog's water bowl (Matthew has a picture on his phone...I did not get one)...and we had to change him and dry his clothes off...ohhh...boys!!!

Let the party begin...playing in the sand is always a favorite!
...haha...check out the two cute little boys on the left hand side of the picture...the little boy in the back is dumping sand all over his younger brother...ohh....I think this is what I have to look forward to!...haha...

Dig in....

Enjoying the slide area...
Reese wanted to see the puppies so Kegan, I suppose, went over to introduce his friend, Reese, to his puppies.

What the men do at parties...sit around, watch football, and eat...haha...
Kegan making a run for it...

Karsyn and Kegan taking a juice break.

Ohh...more pictures...really...???

A rolling good time :)

After some yummy pizza and playtime...we all sand Happy Birthday and dug in to some yummy cookie cake!

sooo....it was a little breezy and I could not get the candles to light...so we pretended...

That did not seem to stop Kegan from really puffing up those cheeks and trying his best!

YUMM-O!

Present time...lots of very fun gifts...so fun...he wanted to stop with each one and take them out to play...

So cuddly...

Kegan had a great time with all his friends and family!!!!...but boy was he pooped after the party...

As was everyone else...
We went out for seafood that night - super yummy - after going and taking some pictures (I will hopefully get a change to post those later)
Trying to decide what to get????

Best thing on the Menu - Papa's lap and some of his Dr.Pepper...super!
After a much needed good nights rest Kegan got up to more gifts to open from Grams, Papa, and Karsyn.
By now - he has this gift opening thing down pact!

This is going to be something he hates when he is older, but I find it funny. Aunt Wendy got him a set of big boy undies...with all these cute pictures...and Kegan was so excited and fascinated with the under ware when he opened them up...of all the cute clothes and things he opened....the under ware caught his eye...haha...

(Side note...notice the large brown stain on his shirt?...yes, that is some of Matthew's coffee...Kegan loves it...already a coffee addict at 2!)
Karsyn deciding she wants to get in the box and be a gift.

Looking at Kegan's toys and books. I love that she is giving this great smile and his is looking at her like, "We are playing...why are you stopping to pose for a picture!?"

After some more play time, we left for church as they all headed off on the long trip back to Plano. Kegan is looking forward to seeing Karsyn for Thanksgiving, though - he misses her, and talks about her...still even calling one of his swings "Karsyn's swing"....

Monday thew week got rolling with a VERY successful trip to the doctor's office. Seriously....Kegna was in great spirits the entire time, being friendly to the nurses and doctor...no tears or crying or screaming this time. I was so impressed...and thankful! The doctor was a little surprised to, he said most kids are hitting their peek of not liking the doctor at this time...way to go Kegan!!! As the for check-up. Doctor Gutherie said Kegan was a specimen of health...it must be all those veggies I fed him for breakfast...haha....to all those who gave me a hard time about that!!! haha... According to the scales he weighs 28 lbs. (although he feels heavier!) and is 35 inches tall!
Waiting for the doctor and checking out the room!

Thursday Kegan had his Thanksgiving feast at school. Before the feast there was a short chapel time...
Kegan walking into chapel with his class....

Kegan was intently watching the bigger kids sing and perform on stage. I was so proud of him, he did not cry or anything up there! :)
Seeing his special visitor who came to see him :)

Thanksgiving place setting for Kegan

Gramma sneaking on his pilgrim hat so we can get a picture...hehe...isn't he cute!

"I am not a fan of the pilgrim collar!"...haha...what a face!

We had a great time at the feast...Kegan liked the nuggets, rolls and desserts...and his time with Gramma and Mommy!
After a nap...Kegan of course wanted to go outside and play - surprise...surprise...hehe!
Throwing the ball to Roo...

Checking things out with Maggie...

Outside time is just plain fun! :)

Looking through his telescope...

Playing in the sand...

...and later that evening while playing in the sink while I cooked...

Daddy decides a mohawk his a good look!

(Friday 11/21) Proof that it does get cold in Corpus...and Kegan looks cute in a beanie...(especially made for him by Mrs. Darla...thanks...he loved it!)

Friday night...helping me cook. Mama got smart though - an apron keeps his shirt a little more cry and clean...
Pour in the mix...

and stir it up!

Hey...it takes a real man to wear an apron like this!
Monday Ty and I had a doctor's appointment so Kegan spent some time with daddy on the farm. The child was so excited that once again, even before the car stopped running, he was telling me good-bye and ready to jump out of the car...
Checking out the tires...
Climbing into the tractor...notice the wrench in his back pocket...just like daddy...
A long morning of working on tractors and helping daddy combine grain makes a little man tired. What a place to nap on the floor of a combine...

Below are some really short videos of Kegan playing this past week. One video is of him rolling some cars he got for his birthday down the slope of the driveway (figured out this on his own) and the other two are of him kicking some balls around in the backyard.
