It is late on Monday night and little man is finally resting. Poor baby has been sick and throwing up since about 5:30ish.... My heart just goes out to him - we talked to the doctor and were told to give him some medicine to stop the vomiting (did not help much) and to try and get liquids down him...which we did...but not for long.... Anyways, enough details, all to say, I will probably not sleep much tonight because he has gotten "sick" periodically while sleeping, so I need to keep watch over him. All to say, first, I really hope he gets to feeling better - he seems so miserable and second, since I had the time and I was up, I decided it was a good time to update!
Last Thursday night Kegan had his first stage appearance. His Mother's Day Out was doing a Christmas show and each class got up to sing 2 songs. He walked in great, sat down great while waiting for his class...and when it was their turn, he was the first to bound up on stage! :) No fear there! Once he got up though, he seemed a bit more interested in the audience and looking around, then he did on singing. In fact, during the second song he spotted his Pampa and said, "see Pampa". I will say this for him - good eyes, and he did not cry or whine to get off stage once he spotted him...he just kept a close eye on Pampa, until he finished his performance. :)
Walking in - the child with the darker hair and red vest. See how well he is holding onto his line ring.
Getting situated with his class.
Sitting and ready for song 1...he knew exactly where to go and what to do!
Song number 1...not to into ringing the bells on the star...
Song number 2 about a teddy bear...and spotting Pampa right around this time.
Paying close attention to the other performers.
Matthew's opinion of it all...haha...(sorry babe...it made me laugh!)
Singing along to the songs. Have I mentioned how much this child likes to sing!?!
Gramma, Kegan, and Pampa...cheese everyone! :)
Daddy, Kegan and Mommy (He did the head lean on his own...as the mommy I think it is adorable!)
Friday was Aunt Stephani's birthday so we all went to Jo Cotton's Bar-b-que (super yummy) to eat. Kegan did FANTASTIC! He sat in a regular chair (no high chair, no booster) and ate...like a big boy and was so well behaved. Seriously he sat for the entire meal, ate, and was very pleasant in behavior. In fact, Josh's mom, Sheri, leaned over to Matthew and said how impressed she was with how well behaved he was for being 2. Matthew's response, "Yeah. I am a little surprised myself right now!". Then, when it was time for cake, Kegan squealed with delight (we had picked it up earlier that day and he had been waiting ALL day for it!) When I asked him whose cake it was, he said "Stephi's"....he remembered. And of course, my little singer helped sing "Happy Birthday"...to which he gets in most of the words...haha!
The birthday girl and Kegan (enjoying his cheese and crackers)
Eating some grapes, in a chair, like a big boy!
Where he sat for dinner. Uncle Josh, if you can make him always behave this well at a meal, he is sitting next to you more often! :)
Saturday Kegan, Gramma, and I headed to Taft for the Christmas celebration they were having at Taft.
Wow...look at him run to Santa????
No no...the tractor...haha
I am driving here people...
Umm...Santa I can't see with you sitting right there...This was as close as we could get to a picture with Santa.
Kegan also got to pet and ride on some horses! Last year he was scared to even get close...not this year. He loved the horses so much he rode on the horse 3 times...and wanted to ride on the bigger horse. (He kept pointing to it and saying "Ride that one!")
Words used while riding the horse:
"yee-ha", "horse", "ride", "tall", "giddy up"
Horse Riding Video:
He bounced in the bounce house:
Kegan got to ride a hay ride around the store and see ALL types of tractors and implements
Then, he got to go test out all the toys...
"Mom, come on! Don't take a picture of me on the girly bike with the streamers...I just wanted to sit on it for a second..."
After running around we were hungry so Gramma took us all to What-a-burger.
Yummy! :0 He seemed happy and pleased!
Let's just say he rested VERY well that afternoon! :)

Kegan - wow - what a fun week! I am tried just reading about everything you did! And way to go on your first concert! Karsyn has hers on Wednesday - hopefully she acts as well behaved as you did!
And tell you Mommy she looked really beautiful in your new family picture.
Love,
Aunt Wendy
Love the pictures and so glad to hear that Kegan enjoyed his first church performance.
Wish I could have been your first performance! Sounds like you did wonderful.
