Thursday, Kegan had his last day of MDO for the semester and his classroom Christmas party. Being that I am a room mom I got there early to set up for the party. While walking into the school the director stopped me and the following conversation occurred:
Director: Gail, I have to tell you a story about what Kegan did during chapel today!
Me: Oh...what did he do? (You can only imagine what was going through my head...oh no!!)
Director: The entire school was in chapel this morning - young bunnies to the oldest class. I was talking to them about the Christmas story. I asked the kids where Jesus was born and Kegan said out-loud, in front of the entire assembly
Me: (Oh no...what did he do...oh no!!!)
Director (cont.): inftont of the entire assembly Kegan yells out "In a barn!"
Me: (with relief) Oh good...I am so glad to hear that. That just makes a mom so happy to hear!!!
***She said she was very impressed...she was looking for "manger", but barn was just as good and she took it and went with it. Me...I went away beeming!
Below are picture from the party - Kegan enjoyed the food and seeing Santa, whom he told he wanted a "tractor".
Chowing down with friends
Ho..ho...ho...
Yummy!
While at Hobby Lobby, later that day, I found a toddler Santa Hat that Kegan really just "had to have". While wearing the hat around Hobby Lobby and then to CVS Kegan charmed everyone by saying "ho ho ho"...and "Merry Christmas!"...both very clearly!!! TOO CUTE!!!
Hmm...so tonight I started to wonder if Kegan belonged to Matthew and I.
Background: Matthew and I both do NOT like raw onions. I will eat them cooked...Matthew still will not eat them.
Story: Tonight I was cutting some onions to saute for the green beans. Kegan was watching me and asked for one. So, I let him try it, thinking he would bite into it and spit it out...no no...he took a bite, made a silly face, chewed it some more, finished it, and then ASKED FOR MORE...ok...sure.... Well he proceeded to eat pieces of onion (3 or 4) till I told him I needed the rest for the beans... Yuck...he gobbled it up though. To each his own...
(ps - I did not smell his breath!)
