Galveston

Warning: There are a lot of pictures( 30 or so)...but not really that many, if you think that I had to narrow it down from 200...needless to say...I took a lot of pictures - it was a great week!

Wednesday morning Kegan and I flew into Houston where my mom, dad, and Karsyn, picked us up (no plane issues this time - yea!!!). Then we headed to the beach house in Galveston. As you can see below Kegan was welcomed with lots of joy from Meme and Poppa. (Kegan and Meme are talking about something here...I think he is laughing at her and she is going..."hey kid!"...haha)
It did not take us long and we headed for the beach. Here Kegan is being pushed by his older cousin, Katy - she loved pushing the babies in their strollers.

Take a quick look - this is the cleanest you will see Kegan on the beach - he LOVES the sand...as you will soon find out!

He loved it so much...he ate some (and will continue to through-out the week - pictures to follow)...then he needed some water. I guess it was a bit dry and gritty! I can't believe he can somewhat successfully drink from a cup..where has my little baby gone???

After a day in the sand, everyone needs a good bath. Wendy and I have decided that Kegan and Karsyn will hate these pictures when they get older...but for now...how cute are they!!! (look how well they are sharing those toys)

Thursday morning we all got up and dressed and played around the house some. The poor family had to step around all the toys and blankets we had layed out for the babies to play on. They were all so great about it.
Karsyn has started crawing...sooo...at times, I think Kegan was just in the way! If something is in the way...then just crawl over it. I love Kegan's face in the pictures...it is almost like he is saying, "Hey! What is going on back there? What are you doing?" To which I guess he showed his disapproval by letting out a stinky, because right after this picture was taken Karsyn raised up one of her hands and waved it under her nose like there was something smelly below her. We all started laughing!!!
Later, Thursday afternoon, Kegan and I headed downstairs and swam a little in his blowup pool with Katy. He still loves the water - he can't even take his eyes off of it long enough to look at the camera.

Nothing better than coming in from a swim and relaxing on the couch some - especially when you are being entertained by your Great Uncle Glenn and Great Aunt Cathy.

Next stop for entertaining fun - flying like an airplane over his Great Uncle Danny's head. Kegan was giggling and laughing the entire time - he loved it.

After all that playing, it was time to start winding down. Both grand kids and Grams and Grandpa took in some time together on the porch. Kegan loved watching all the birds fly by!

Time to go in - way to go Grandpa - both grand kids at once...trust me, that is a load!!! Look at Kegan's hand on Grandpa's face - I think it looks sweet...like he is patting him on the cheek.

Bath time, again! Look at those buns!

Friday, Grams, Kegan, Karsyn, and I met Wendy at a portrait studio (about 30 minutes or so outside of Galveston) and had pictures taken of the kids - soooo cute (of course) despite Kegan being very fussy and NOT in the mood to smile. I will download those pictures later and you will see that the photographer did capture some smile and we got some VERY cute pictures!!!
After a morning of pictures, we came back to the beach. It was low tide, and the water was pretty calm, so we were able to set the babies out in the water. They both enjoyed the sand and waves. Kegan does have in his, what Wendy called, his sand plug. If that was not in his mouth, it was a handful of sand. I think this is the only time, all week, that Karsyn was a little bit more dirty than Kegan.
Such an inquisitive face!

Friday night, we took pictures of all the great grand kids...
then of all the great grand kids with Meme and Poppa.

Friday night Kegan went to his first bonfire on the beach. As you can tell he enjoyed himself!

Matthew got in Friday night, so first thing Saturday morning we all headed out to the beach again...and of course if you are going to the beach with little ones, you need to be sure to lather them up in sunscreeen - scalp included. Who knew sunscreen could act as a great hair gel. This is one of my favorite pictures of Kegan...they hair...the face...all too cute!

We took Kegan out into the waves. Grandpa was fishing in the distance and as you can see...he caught a fish.
Kegan is inspecting the fish here - I am sure if felt very slimy and different than anything he has ever touched before. He liked it though - yea - he can be a fishing buddy with his Grandpa! We had to be careful with his hands though - they would go straight to his mouth after touching the fish - probably not the cleanest thing for him to do!

After spending a while in the water we went back to chill in the sand for a while. Matthew buried Kegan's feet in the sand. Kegan did not seem to mind at all - the more dirt the better! (Notice the sand plug is in.)
The sand plug is out, and look where that dirty hand goes!

Ohhh - my dirty little boy - just reclining in the sand recliner his daddy made him.

As playtime progressed, so did the amount of sand in Kegan's mouth. Karsyn has Kegan's sand plug, since he obviously has not desire to use it. Notice - she is clean and sitting nicely and he is....

dirty...dirty...dirty! Such a little boy - happiest when covered in dirt!

After a long play at the beach the babies got very hungry. Man - what a life. Both babies sitting back in their recliners drinking their bottles. Could they look more relaxed?

Saturday night we all took a walk on the beach for our last night there. Kegan enjoyed his ride on Uncle Danny's shoulders. Although, I think Uncle Danny is now missing patches of hair where Kegan was grabbing on.

We headed home Sunday, after cleaning up, packing up, and once last meal of seafood. On the way home we stopped by Granddad's and Madaline's for a while so they could see Kegan. Grandad had Kegan giggling a kit of the time there!

Then we stopped again, a little further down the road to see Grandma and Pappa. I think this is such a sweet picture of Kegan and Grandma. He loved the musical toy she was holding.

Pappa even had a chance to entertain Kegan!

It was a great trip...and our last one for a little while at least. Maybe I can finally start trying to unspoil him...hehe!
