A Second Christmas Celebration

We have been a busy family - as you can tell by the length in time between post on little man's life, but here we go...trying to catch up with all the FUN stuff that has been going on.

All the way back to New Year's Day!

After an eventful (Ha) New Year's Eve dinner (The last dinner we will be having at Landry's for a while, next time we are stopping next door at Joe's - a little louder place for a loud man!) and dessert (ice cream) with mom and dad Kegan went to bed at about 9:00 - he brought in the New Year sleeping peacefully in his bed.
Super Yummy Ice Cream!!!

New Year's Day was spent at his Grandparent's house...enjoying lots of good food and LOTS of attention and playing!
Enjoying an apple in his special chair at his grandparent's house. This chair was Mrs. Setliff's when she was a little girl and Mr. Setliff had it fixed up and refinished so she could use it with her grandchildren. Kegan enjoys it - it van be folded down to where his feet rest on the ground - like a chair and table his height...just like the big people.

Yummy apple. Such a big boy - eating the apple straight off the core!

Playing a game of dominoes with the family. Hmmm...he was such a good help "shuffling" the dominoes.

The rest of the week we spent time playing and trying to get things and schedules back to normal after our week away.

Pushing around his New York City Taxi his mommy brought back for him. Vroom Vroom

He was having breakfast on the go one morning and his bib got stuck straight up like this...and it did not seem to bother him...I got a good laugh from it!

Cute smile!

Sharing a green sucker with daddy.

Playing with a new toy from his cousin Karsyn. It plays lots of music so he of course loves it!

Do I want to play with the learning table or push the button, on the book, that makes a "quacking" sound? I know! I will do both at one time!

Playing with some of his daddy's papers. What a mischievous face!

Saturday we went over to the Setliff's house to have "Christmas" with Grandpa and Grandma, Uncle Kyle and Aunt Lindsey, and Uncle Josh and Aunt Stephani. Kegan enjoyed all the attention and playing around with everyone. It was great to have all the family together and spend time with one another.

Kegan and daddy playing round with Uncle Kyle. In actuality, I think Matthew was using Kegan to bug Kyle...poor baby being used for his daddy's mean tricks.

Stair climbing - a constant joy for Kegan at Grandma and Grandpa's...and a constant need for peeled eyes for everyone around. He is actually very good at climbing up and knows to slide down backwards, on his belly.

Gift opening time - Kegan of course was thrilled to tear paper and pull out tissue...on his on gifts...and other's, too!
Helping Grandpa open gifts.

Trying on a stylish toboggan from his Uncle Kyle and Aunt Lindsey. It ties under his chin so his little hands can't pull it off - mom LOVES that...Kegan not so crazy, but he gets used to it! It looks adorable on him!

Another hat...no daddy...swim trucks from Uncle Josh and Aunt Stephani!

I loves this picture...such a typical boy - thrilled with clothes...can you see it on his face? Personally, I love when he gets clothes!

Tearing paper...opening boxes...always brings a big smile to a little boys face!

This is one of my new favorite pictures of Kegan...TOO CUTE!!!

What brings an even bigger smile to a little boys face...particularly one who LOVES tractors...is getting a tractor like daddy's...just little boy size!
OOOOO...what is it that I see under that bag?

Starting to pull back on the bag...in great anticipation...

YEA!!! It is a tractor!!!! (Lots of squeals!!!)

Let's ride!!!

Look at me...driving my own tractor!
Getting a tractor - What a great ending to a fun day!

This past week was full of lots of laughs...as always with Kegan. He is constantly doing things that make me laugh as he learns and reacts to the world around him.
One of Kegan's favorite things to do is look out at the puppies through the windows or go outside and watch them. Kegan was always having to stand on his tip-toes to look out the window and have a good look at the dogs in the back yard...well he solved his problem. I had a plastic tub sitting in the corner of out bedroom and Kegan realized he could step up on it and then he got a great view of the dogs.
With his new "height", Kegan was able to grab onto Maggie's nose...which made her sneeze. He pulled his hand away and looked at it with a funny expression like he was thinking, "Eww...this is gross!" (This picture is funny...but I wish I could have snapped a picture of the face Kegan made right after it...for all who have seen his MANY facial expressions...it was a whole new one!)

Roo giving a kiss through the window! Kegan loves his doggies!

Not only can Kegan step up onto to boxes...but he is starting to learn more and more about climbing...as his legs lengthen his stretch to get his knee up on things gets better...super!
Here he is climbing up on the dishwasher. The child loves the dishwasher...helping me unload it (haha) and trying to climb it (He normally is not aloud to do this, but I buckled and decided it made some funny pictures and let him do it just this once...I am sure I will pay for this by having to work extra hard to get him not to do it again.).
Climbing up!
Finding the perfect spot...
There...the perfect spot to sit and play!

Now...how do I get down?

Thursday Kegan got his second round of the flu shot. He is getting very smart and eyed the nurse the entire time like he knew what she was ultimately going to do. We then met Matthew in Corpus to go see some of the people who provide crop insurance - Matthew had to do paper work and Kegan was asked to join to entertain and so all the ladies could see how he had changed since they last saw them. He shared his grins, laughs, and charms with everyone there! He even got to go feed the birds by the port - which HE LOVED!! Matthew, Kegan and I then went to Whataburger on the bay and ate outside on the deck overlooking the water.
Here Matthew was being his normal mischievous self and put Kegan's shoes on his hands. Kegan figured out how to get them off...swing the hands hard enough and they will come flying off.

These are all the pictures I have so far...but I already have many more to add from our busy weekend in Pasadena. Hopefully I can get those up later this week. If not, then next week after the livestock show is over - that is sure to bring lots of fun stories to tell!

I do want to add a few tid-bits on new things for Kegan:
1.) 2 new teeth - number 8 and 9 (He is doing ok...but a bit fussy at times)
2.)BIG NEWS! - Kegan took his first few steps Friday afternoon. We had met Matthew for lunch at the Cafe in Mathis and before we left Mr. Chopless got down on the ground, across from Kegan who was standing holding onto Matthew's hand, and told Kegan to come to him...well little man took about three steps...ON HIS OWN...till he got into Mr. Chopless's hands. Sunday night he took some more steps on his own. Around 2-4 steps at a time before he fell. It looks like he is on his way to walking!

So adorable!!! Soon he and Karsyn will be racing eachother down the street and we will be wondering why we ever wanted them to walk in the first place!

What an appropriate place for his first steps. I am sure he will have many more opportunities to walk around there.
We miss y'all.
